Why is fostering so important?
Every week many dogs don’t make it into a new home simply because there is no where for them to go. Foster homes offer a vital alternative to this sad situation. Taking a stray or frightened animal and showing him/her that people can be kind, that food is available, and that there is a warm place to sleep, creates a marvelous bridge to a new home.
Below is an example of how a foster home made a difference in a dog’s life...
Miles was found in a home after his owner was taken to prison. He was very obviously neglected for quite some time. Poor Miles was terrified of people, afraid to move, and just in a sad state. Miles could not have been adopted out to a family in his condition, he needed to be nursed back to health, emotionally & physically. In his condition , Miles had no where else to go but a foster home.

After being placed in his foster home, Miles, being a 4 mo. old puppy, quickly came around and began trusting people once again and blossomed into an incredible dog. He loves to play with other dogs and cats and cuddle with his orange stuffed teddy bear when he sleeps! Thanks to his dedicated foster home giving him the love and patience he needed to heal, he was given the second chance he deserved.
