Barney's Story

Barney arrived at the Cleveland Kennel after being picked up as a stray in Cleveland.
Poor Barney was most likely hit by a car, and forced to wander the streets alone with his broken leg. He suffered from extensive nerve damage from this injury, and was forced to balance on his front wrist in order to walk. This made walking very difficult, and led to his front paw being in extremely bad condition from dragging on the streets.

After seeking medical attention, the only option for Barney was to amputate his front left leg. This would finally allow Barney to walk around without the broken leg hindering his movability.

After going through this terrible ordeal, and being neglected for some time, we were amazed at how willing Barney was to show his love and affection to absolutely EVERYone! His incredible spirit was just as evident the very first day he came into the Cleveland Kennel, as the day he left the veterinary clinic without his front leg.

Thanks to your continued support, we were able to give this amazing spirit a second chance at a great life.
